Where is the VAC drum mainly used in paper machines

The VAC drum (vacuum roller) of the paper machine is mainly used for the mesh section (forming section) and pressing section, and is the core component for wet paper web dewatering, transfer, and stable operation.
1、 Network department (forming department) application
1. Vacuum Couch Roll
Location: At the end of the net, before the wet paper leaves the forming net.
Function: Final forced dehydration, improving the dryness and uniformity of the paper web, reducing the difference between the two sides, and preparing for subsequent transfer.
2. Vacuum Pickup Roll
Location: Between the mesh section and the pressing section.
Function: High speed and stable paper feeding, smoothly transferring wet paper from the forming net to the press blanket, preventing paper breakage and wrinkling.
2、 Pressing department application
Vacuum Press Roll
Location: Each pressing zone of the pressing section (mostly the lower roller).
Function: Strengthen dehydration+prevent moisture regain, vacuum assist in extracting water from the blanket/paper web, improve press dryness, and reduce steam consumption.
3、 Other auxiliary applications
Vacuum idler/guide roller: used in the drying section, calendering section, and winding section of the paper machine to adsorb, flatten, and stabilize the paper web, reducing wrinkles and deviation.
Special paper machine: toilet paper, kraft paper, coated paper machine, suitable for high dehydration, high speed, and high dryness requirements.
