What are the characteristics of Paper Machine Vacuum Press Roll
The core feature of Paper Machine Vacuum Press Roll is the combination of mechanical extrusion and vacuum suction for dehydration, which is suitable for medium and high-speed paper machines. It has high dehydration efficiency and good paper quality, but the structure is complex and the energy consumption and maintenance costs are high.
1、 Structural characteristics
Porous roller shell: made of bronze or stainless steel material, with a surface densely covered with small holes (about 4.5mm in diameter), with an opening rate of 15% -25%, penetrating the roller wall.
Built in vacuum chamber: There is a fixed vacuum box inside the roller, which maintains high vacuum during operation (medium speed 39.2-49KPa, high speed 58.6-63.6KPa).
Surface coating: The roller surface is covered with 20-40mm rubber to evenly distribute pressure, protect the blanket, and increase the line pressure (20-50KN/m).
Precision sealing: Wear resistant seals are installed at both ends of the vacuum chamber to prevent air leakage and maintain vacuum stability.
2、 Working principle
Composite dehydration: Mechanical extrusion and vacuum suction are synchronized in the compression zone, and water is sucked into the vacuum chamber through the roller holes and discharged.
Continuous dehumidification: The vacuum effect covers the front and back of the compression zone, reducing paper web rewetting and improving dryness (about 2% higher than ordinary pressing).
Paper web adsorption: Vacuum suction assists in the adsorption of paper web, improving the stability of transfer and paper feeding at high speeds.
3、 Performance advantages
High dehydration efficiency: Strong composite dehydration ability, especially suitable for high-speed paper machines, with high paper dryness.
Excellent paper quality: low peak pressure in the compression zone, reducing embossing and crushing, and uniform dehydration of the banner.
Long lifespan of blankets: Vacuum continuous cleaning of blankets maintains permeability and reduces wear.
Stable operation: Vacuum adsorption reduces paper breakage and improves production efficiency.
4、 Limitations
Complex structure: requires high manufacturing accuracy and higher cost than ordinary pressure rollers.
High energy consumption: requires a high-power vacuum pump, resulting in high power consumption and noise.
Frequent maintenance: The roller holes are prone to blockage and require regular cleaning; The seal is vulnerable and needs to be replaced.
Roller body strength: Opening holes weakens the strength of the roller shell, and the opening rate and aperture need to be controlled.
